Inspection Details

We offer independent floor inspection services to the commercial industry as well as residential and hi rise home sites.

Why a flooring inspection?

If You are unsure whether poor installation, a mismanufactured or damaged product caused the problems with your hardwood flooring, You may want to have an independent third party to determine the problem and what the potential causes are. We offer a 100% reliable and fully independent certified wood floor inspection service.

Common issues over the years have included; flooded, gaps, crowning, cupping, buckling, lifting, squeaking, loose, popping, dull, unevenness in shine, defects and unsatisfactory appearance or grade.

Over the phone at no charge we will discuss your problem. Perhaps you do not have a great case and it’s not worth paying the money and spending the time for the inspection.

Should you decide to go ahead we charge for the visit and the price varies some depending on the size of the job, the location and what has to be done.

What to Look for in a Certified Wood Flooring Inspector:

Recommended Inspectors are Certified by the Hardwood Flooring Industry's leading recognized associations: The National Oak Flooring Manufacturers Association (NOFMA) and The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA).

I am a National Wood Flooring Association Certified Inspector. I am professionally trained and certified to render expert opinions on wood flooring related problems. My findings are recognized by wood & laminate manufacturers, as well as the courts in most jurisdictions.

Any information I receive from you is strictly confidential.

One of the first items we will discuss: What company & individuals are involved with your complaint, there may be a conflict of interest.

Our role in a flooring complaint is to investigate and determine the cause of the claim. We gather the facts surrounding the complaint, determine the specific cause of the problem, and prepare a written report for the commissioning party (you) that is accurate, objective, and informative.

Hardwood, laminated and engineered floors are meant to provide you with years of service, however; circumstances may arise such as installation errors, product failure or poor site conditions, turning your dream floor into a living nightmare. Let My Services help You avoid the nightmare.

The report is the property of the customer to whom the inspection is billed and will not be released to other parties without the permission of the customer. (Exception; that the reports may be reviewed by NWFACP for certification requirements and/or as required by law).

In some cases destructive testing is needed.

It is not uncommon that a floor will need to have the baseboards removed so we can see a gap. I charge to take baseboards off, I do not reinstall the baseboards or guarantee that the baseboards and walls will not get damaged.

I have several non-destructive moisture meters that will read into concrete, and wood moisture meters that read into wood. However, the courts will not accept this type of reading.
